In a forsaken world, a sentient bacteria-like creature, is spawned into being. Without knowing its purpose in this strange world, the creature instinktivly searches through the dystopian scenery. On its way, it consumes DNA from some of the sparesome fauna left in the world, unlocking their abilities. The goal is simple: jump, climb and swim, to explore and expand, while collecting the powerfull enegy the creatures creators left behind, when they left the world to ruin.

The curious creature is you. Enjoy our game!

About

This game was created for the Metroidvania Month 6 game jam, in collaboration with  BlueMango!

We didn't have as much time as we expected to work on the game, resulting in the game only containing the most basic features and scenery at the moment. We may continue working on the game after the dealine, raising the level of detail and adding important features such as animation and UI. More content is also planned.

! - Extra info needed, because the game is not finished

The abilities are not explained yet, so here are the currently unlockable abilities in the order they are unlocked:

  1. Jumping
  2. Ledge grab/climbing vines
  3. Swimming
  4. Double jump

At some point you will need to insert the batteries(sphere thingy) you collect into some sockets by pressing the Interaction key [x]. They look like this:

Pressing [down] while jumping off a vine causes you to drop off instead.

yep, the grabbing aspect of the hook mechanic sucks.
it only does hook when touching or jumping by a vine in like 60$ of the cases.
same goes for grabbing ledges.
some get grabbed better than others but there is much leeway there.

cant do a jump vine to vine section with a 40% of not grabbing the vine while I am jumping literally through it!

I seem to get more the hang of the vine climbing (even though it is still not too consistent)

however after running around all availlable areas, I jsut dont know where to go next. hgiher up is impossible without some double jump or something.
and I wouldnt know any other directions that I could currently advance in :-(

the hooking mechanism isnt too reliable.
I obviously have to press down left or right to get close to a ledge.
hopwever if I press anything besides up with getting into the hanging motion, it will let go directly.
and even if pressing nothing, the succes rate is only like 50% or something  :-/
